Acupuncture Treatments for Physical Conditions

Acupuncture can help with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions such as headaches, migraines, backaches, and more.  It does this by needling into the muscle’s belly causing the muscle to have a fasciculation which essentially is a hard reset.  This tells the muscle to relax so the body is able to heal.  It also works in the opposite way, if the muscle has any weakness, needling into the muscle and causing a fasciculation can tell the muscle to wake up and to start working again.

Fasciculation is a visible, fine, and fast-twitch that can be a bit startling but does not hurt. Once the fasciculation happens, the needle is left alone for it to continue to send the energy through the body and help start the healing process.

Accessory points are also needled to help aid in the healing process.  There are multiple different acupuncture points on the arms and legs that can help with moving qi, encouraging blood flow and help balance the body.

I’ve assisted many patients that were involved in motor vehicle accidents and I direct bill to ICBC. Did you know that many people who have injuries as the result of an accident are entitled to 12 acupuncture visits within the first 12 weeks since the accident? I would be happy to see you for a consultation and to discuss a plan to aid in your healing process.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation:
a small electric current passes between acupuncture needles that are inside two separate muscle bellies. This forces the muscles to twitch, which is like a hard reset, to release to a natural position. This treatment can be used for both under and over-active muscles.
